ABQ Chihuahua Rescue

At ABQ Chihuahua Rescue, we often receive calls about dogs who need more than a safe place to land. Some arrive needing surgery, medication, special diets, diagnostic care or ongoing treatment before they can begin to heal.
In the past several days, we have taken on more than $3,500 in medical bills for dogs in our care, and that does not include the cost for four recent spay surgeries.
Each one of these dogs has a story, and each one deserves comfort, treatment and a chance at a better life.
Mickey
Mickey had surgery to address a painful eye condition. His surgery went well, and he is now back home with his foster family, already feeling more comfortable.
Pancho
Pancho was found wandering in Hatch and needed surgery to repair a severe hernia, along with a specialized neuter procedure.
Fifi
Fifi was surrendered by her owner and later found to have an untreated broken femur. She is now receiving care for chronic pain and also needs a special diet to support her gastric system.
Chi Chi
Chi Chi was found in Socorro after severe abuse and neglect. She is receiving treatment for an injured eye area and other healing care.
Mini Boo Boo
Mini Boo Boo was transferred from the Roswell shelter and is being treated for two types of parasites.
Terry
Terry came to us after the Santa Fe shelter asked for help. He is an older dog with heart problems and will remain in our care as a forever foster, with costly medications needed for the rest of his life.
Your gift helps provide care including:
- $10 toward medication, parasite treatment or comfort care
- $25 toward special food, pain management or follow-up care
- $50 toward diagnostics, exams or treatment plans
- $100 toward surgery, specialty care or ongoing medical needs
Any amount helps us say yes when a dog needs us.
We are happy to help these little ones. It’s what we do. We get them healthy, help them heal and give them the chance to be adopted, loved or safely cared for as long as they need us.
Thank you for helping us continue to say yes,
ABQ Chihuahua Rescue
Do you know that dogs that are newly adopted and/or newly fostered need time??? Even the best of dogs will mark your home at least once. PLEASE - give them the time to adjust and learn their new environment. Below is the rule of "THREE" for most dogs.
